Caring for Your Paws Made toys during winter training

Caring for Your Paws Made toys during winter training

For many customers, winter training means moving indoors to sand or other equestrian arenas or coping with slightly muddier conditions than usual. So, what does this mean for your Paws Made toys? Well, often, it means they are quite simply – manky!

The great thing about our toys is that we designed them as dog owners and lovers, so we know how important it is to be able to wash them! Here are our top tips for keeping your toys in the best condition.

Drying After Use or Washing

Please do not tumble dry our toys! Instead, hang them in a well-ventilated area or lay them flat to dry naturally. The heat from dryers can shrink or damage the fur and fabric.

Washing

You can hand wash them or put them in a gentle machine wash. To avoid damaging the materials, use a cool wash (30°C or lower). Make sure you use a pet-safe, non-toxic detergent. Avoid strong chemicals or fabric softeners, as they can affect the texture and durability of the materials.

Revive Furry Toys

Once your toys are dry, gently use a slicker brush to fluff and revive the fur. This helps maintain the toy’s texture and appeal, ensuring it stays fun for your dog. Brush in the direction of the fur for best results.

General Toy Maintenance

While Paws Made toys are built to last, active play can cause natural wear over time. To keep your toys in top condition, inspect them regularly to check for loose threads or signs of wear and don’t forget to rotate your training toys to maintain excitement and keep them smelling fresh.

By following these steps, you’ll keep your Paws Made toys looking great and working their best to engage your dog’s instincts in your training sessions.
