Skinner’s is a British family business with over 50 years of expertise in canine nutrition, passionately dedicated to keeping dogs active and healthy. Established in 1688, Skinner’s Mill in Suffolk has remained a family-run operation for seven generations, producing high-quality dog food that understands the needs of our active companions.
1688 CREATION OF THE SKINNER’S MILL
The traditional mill in Stradbroke was built in 1688. It was one of the first postmills in Suffolk grinding corn for local people. The mill has been in the Skinner family for seven generations and a period of over 200 years.
1900 OTHER FOODS
The Skinner family produced many varieties of animal feeds ranging from monkey nuts to cat food.
1999 THE FIRST PUPPY PACK
Skinner’s launched their popular Puppy Pack scheme, originally called ‘puppy sure start’ this scheme was created to encourage breeders to wean their puppies onto and recommend Skinner’s food to new owners.
2000 THE NEW FACTORY
Skinner's continue to develop their range, expanding their mill to become one of the most sophisticated dry dog food manufacturing plants in the country, producing ALL their foods at their factory in Suffolk, using British sourced product where possible and grains that surround the local fields. All their diets are produced using a fixed formula, so the diets are always consistent.
2021 50 YEARS OF FUELLING WORKING DOGS
Skinner’s celebrate 50 years of fuelling working dogs (1971-2021). To celebrate they updated the look of the brand with a refreshed logo, updated and redesigned their dry food packaging, enhanced their range with 4 x wet food diets, 3 x treats and updated – all in recyclable packaging!
